Course Overview
Gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence you need to work in the rewarding community services sector. During this course, you will learn how to meet the needs of people and support them in a non-for-profit organisation. Whether you wish to take this course to become a Community Service worker, Support Worker, Caseworker, or Client contact officer this nationally recognised qualification will allow you to pursue a career in either. This program in community services will enable you to work in a range of roles within the community sector, helping you to enrich the lives of others. This qualification is required for community service workers who design and deliver person-centered services to individuals and/or groups. As a Community Service individual or group, you provide effective care to the community and individual members of the community and ultimately aim to change their lives for the better.

Enrolment
All Enrolments in the program is to be completed by the 06/12/2023. Students are expected to exhibit ongoing progression towards completion. They should also aim to complete the modules by the nominated completion date. However, an extension for assessment may be given at the trainer’s discretion.
Resources Required
All students are required to use a computer or tablet with access to the internet and a program that can open and edit Word documents (this does not have to be Microsoft Office).
Delivery Options
Online
This program in community services is delivered via the online learning system. Though students don’t need to come to class physically, they need to stay in contact with their Educator and attend phone and/or web meetings to complete some of the practical components of the course. Online learning allows users to flexibly complete their course at their own pace to suit work and other life commitments. Students can work anytime, anywhere support by their industry-experienced Educator via telephone and email communication where they are.
Distance
With distance learning, students have the same amount of convenience and flexibility as online or blended learning. The only difference is studying via books. It is a suitable delivery mode for students who prefer to have hard copy resources. However, students wishing to complete their program in community services via distance instead of online will incur additional material and postage fees up to the value of $25.00 per unit.
RPL
Individuals who have lots of skills and experience but have no formal qualification can consider the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). With this program, they can demonstrate that they have the required skills and knowledge for particular units/qualifications within the industry that they are experienced. RPL focuses on one’s life and work experiences and how they meet the criteria of the national qualifications.
